Description

A house, dating from the mid-to-late 13th century, which was later remodelled in the 19th century. It is now divided into two separate dwellings. The building is constructed of magnesian limestone ashlar with a Welsh slate roof and brick stacks. A plinth runs along the base. External steps lead to entrances in the second and fourth bays, both featuring 19th-century six-fielded panel doors beneath oblong fanlights with glazing bars, set within pilastered doorcases with dentil cornices and consoles supporting a hood. The entrance in the fourth bay is inserted into what was formerly a carriage arch; this arch has been blocked, though a plank doorway gives access to a passage at the rear. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set within flat arches featuring ashlar voussoirs and ashlar cills. A modillion eaves band runs along the top of the building. End and ridge stacks are present.
