Description

Green Farmhouse and the attached outbuilding are a farmhouse, barn, and cowshed dating from the mid to late 18th century, with later alterations and extensions. The structure is built of squared limestone with a brick eaves course and has a pantile roof with rebuilt brick stacks. The farmhouse has a central stairhall plan and is one room deep, with a rear extension added.

The front of the house is two stories high and features five windows, while the barn and cowshed to the left are also two stories and have four bays. The house has a central 20th-century door beneath a two-light, 12-pane horizontal sliding sash window. To the left, there is a two-light, small-pane top-opening window on the ground floor and a two-light, 12-pane casement window on the first floor. The remaining windows are three-light, 18-pane horizontal sliding sashes, all with painted stone sills and painted lintels.

The barn and cowshed have double board doors to the right of center and a stable door to the center left. There is a shuttered pitching window on the first floor to the left and a six-pane fixed light window to the right, with painted timber lintels above all openings. The house has stacks at the ends and to the left and right of center.

Inside, the ground floor features plank doors to the rear of the stairhall and under the stairs, which have H-L hinges. The first-floor room to the right has a plank and muntin partition, which is now papered over.
