Description
No 1 Village Street is a house dating from around 1800, although it likely has earlier origins, with some alterations made in the 19th century. The building features squared limestone on a limestone rubble plinth, a brick eaves course, and a pantile roof with brick stacks. It has a three-cell, lobby-entry layout and is two stories tall with a three-window front. To the right, there is a single-storey lean-to outbuilding. The main entrance, located right of centre, consists of a six-panel door accessed by stone steps. To the left on the ground floor is a three-light replacement window with glazing bars. The remaining windows are three-light, small-pane horizontal sliding sashes. All windows have painted stone sills and painted tooled lintels above their openings. The house features end and centre stacks.
