Description
These are two dwellings, built in 1801, as indicated by a lintel inscription, with later remodelling, extensions, and alterations. The construction utilizes squared limestone on a limestone rubble plinth, with a brick eaves course and a pantile roof topped with brick stacks, one of which has been rebuilt. The building is two storeys and has an attic, presenting a four-window front. A board door provides access to number 8, located to the left of centre, while the entrance to number 9 is found in an extension to the rear right. The ground floor and first-floor windows on the right-hand side are 3-light casements with small panes. A similar 2-light window is located on the first floor to the left. The remaining windows are small-pane horizontal sliding sashes, with the exception of those in the attic, which are 20th-century gabled dormers featuring plain bargeboards. Painted stone sills are visible on all windows except those in the attic, and painted lintels are present on all openings. End and centre stacks are also notable features.
