Description

Green Farm House, dating from the 17th century, is a farmhouse constructed from coursed flint with evenly spaced bricks in some courses, featuring brick dressings and a pantile roof. The building has three bays and two storeys, with an attached former dairy on the left side that is now converted and incorporated into the house, and an attached barn on the right. It displays gable parapets, a dentil cornice, and a large axial stack located between the second and third bays, as well as another axial stack between the first bay and the left conversion. There is a doorway under a segmental arch between the first and second bays, and a blocked square window in the middle of the chimney bay. Each floor has three 3-light casement windows with transoms, with those on the ground floor set under segmental heads. The former dairy features late 20th-century fenestration and dormers, while a single-storey 19th-century addition in flint and brick extends across the first bay and part of the dairy. The rear of the house has stone quoins at the ground floor on the left, a glazed door under a semi-circular arch in the second bay, and a small 2-light brick mullioned window to the right. The first bay has a sash window with glazing bars arranged in 4 x 4 panes, and the third bay has a 2-light casement window, while the first floor features four steel-framed windows. Inside, the central bay has bar stopped chamfered beams, the right bay has ovolo moulded beams and reeded window surrounds, and there is a 16th-century moulded beam in the former dairy.
