Description

This is an early 19th-century house that has been converted into two cottages in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone with a rendered facade and a pantile roof, featuring two brick stacks. The south-facing street front has two windows. The ground floor has a pair of doorways; the doorway on the left has a part-glazed four-panel door, while the doorway on the right was inserted in the 20th century. To the left of the doorways is a sash window with glazing bars, and to the right is a former three-light window now containing a modern window, both with stone lintels that feature an incised keystone. The property forms part of a group with numbers 35-37, Mount Royd, 38-40, St Joseph's Presbytery, the Roman Catholic Church of St Joseph, the Church Hall, and numbers 44 to 47. Numbers 35-37 and Mount Royd are buildings of local interest.
