Description

No. 40 on Potter Hill is an early 19th-century building that stands two storeys tall, constructed from coursed stone with a pantile roof. It features two windows with hung sashes that do not have glazing bars, and each window is topped with a stone lintel that has triple keystones. The entrance has a modern half-glazed door that is accessed by steps and is also topped with a similar lintel.

This building is part of a group that includes Nos. 35 to 37, Mount Royd, Nos. 38 to 40, St Joseph's Presbytery, the Roman Catholic Church of St Joseph, the Church Hall, and Nos. 44 to 47, with Nos. 35, 37, and Mount Royd being of local interest.
