GREAT AND LITTLE BROUGHTON LITTLE BROUGHTON NZ 50 NE 5/54 Barn, byre and gingang to east of Crow Wood House

GV II

Farmbuildings, later C18 and early C19. Red brick in various bonds with some stone dressings. Pantiled roofs with stone ridges. L-plan. Barn 2 storeys, 5 bays. Blocked doorway and pattern of vent slits. 1-storey stable has 3 boarded doors, 2 of them stable-type, with large long-and-short stone jambs. 5-sided gingang behind barn has 4 stout sandstone piers. Interiors: barn has strutted king-post roof and gingang retains its main beam. Included for group value.
