Description

Aldro Farm barn and implement shed is a Grade II listed building dating from the early 19th century, consisting of two separate structures. The barn and shed are constructed from brick in English bond, with hammer-dressed limestone and a pantile roof. The overall layout is L-shaped, with the shed added at a right angle to the left end of the barn.

The barn is two storeys high and features three openings on the first floor. The end of the shed has additional first-floor openings to the left. There is a stone foundation course, two stable doors with vents in between, and a first-floor pitching door that includes two slatted openings with divided overlights. The barn also has a boarded opening leading to the shed, sprocketed eaves, gable coping, and a shaped kneeler on the right side.

The implement shed is also two storeys tall and consists of six bays. It features six wide elliptical arches, with the rightmost arch containing a double boarded door. The first floor has boarded pitching windows beneath canted brick arches, except for a pitching door located in the fourth bay. Similar to the barn, it has sprocketed eaves, a hipped roof on the left, gable coping, and a shaped kneeler on the left side.
