Outbuilding Approximately 10 Metres To South-West Of Cottage No 3

This outbuilding, located approximately 10 metres to the south-west of Cottage No 3, was originally a wash-house for cottages Nos 1 to 7. It was built around 1855 by William Butterfield as part of the estate for Viscount Downe of Baldersby Park. The structure is made of red brick in English bond and features a tiled roof. It is a single storey building with a door to the left, which has vertical boards with beading and is likely original. To the right, there is a 5-light casement window with glazing bars. The left side has a small casement window with a louvered opening above it. A gable chimney is located to the right and has tumbled-in brickwork. Inside, the outbuilding contains a fireplace, a copper, and a pump.
