4/15 Sundial shaft approximately 2 metres east of the south porch of the Church of St Thomas a Becket

GV II

Sundial shaft. Dated 1672. Gritstone. A solid block approximately 1 metre high. Square in section at the base; the deeply chamfered corners terminate at top and bottom in pyramidal stops. The chamfers decorated with relief strapwork pattern of diamonds and circles. The top section has relief motifs of circles or shields and crosses and the date 1672 on the east face.
