Description
Crow Trees Cottage is a pair of cottages located in Low Bentham, dating from the early 18th century with some 20th-century alterations. The cottages are constructed from slobbered rubble with stone dressings and feature a tiled roof. They are two storeys high and consist of four bays.
For No. 7, there is a central entrance with a plain surround and a door from around 1980. To the left, there is a ground floor two-light recessed flat-faced mullioned window, while to the right, there was originally a three-light window, although the mullions are now missing. On the upper floor, there is a two-light recessed flat-faced mullioned window on the left and a former three-light window on the right, with the left-hand mullion enlarged and the right-hand mullion now gone, replaced with 20th-century casements.
For No. 8, the entrance is on the left, featuring a plain surround, a rectangular fanlight, and a four-panel door. There is one two-light flat-faced recessed mullioned window on each floor to the right, both with 20th-century casements. Above the door, there is a window from around 1900, which has sashes with glazing bars. The cottages also have a central ridge stack.
