Description
The building is a former Post Office located on Main Street in Low Bentham. It was originally two cottages and dates from the mid-18th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. The exterior is rendered with painted stone dressings and features a Welsh slate roof. The structure has two storeys and two bays.
The entrance, which is positioned to the right of the center, is framed by fluted Doric pilasters and a flat pediment, leading to a four-panel door. To the left of the center, there is an entrance to the shop, which has a two-leaf door and a 20th-century shopfront. On the ground floor, there is a 19th-century window on the right side, with a similar window above it featuring six-pane sashes. The left-hand upper floor window has a chamfered surround and sashes with glazing bars. The right-hand gable end has a ridge stack.
