SAWLEY MAIN STREET (east side) Hill Top Farmhouse with flanking walls and west garden wall

House and flanking walls, linked on left to west garden wall along road side. Late C18. Coursed squared gritstone, coursed rubble to rear, C20 pantile roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Quoins. Central C20 half-glazed 4-panel door with keyed lintel, blind recess above, flanked by 16-pane sashes in plain stone surrounds. Shaped kneelers, gable copings, end corniced stacks. Flanking walls each have a blind recess with stone surround near house, and a board door with keyed lintel, that to left obscured by a greenhouse, that to right formerly giving access to privy. Garden wall returning on left approximately 1.5 metres high of coursed rubble with rounded coping, approximately 25 metres long and ramped at south end. Rear: C20 door to left of centre in long and short stone surround; 4 square windows, with C20 frames to ground floor and side-sliding sashes to first floor; central keyed round-arched sash window with glazing bars lighting stairs. Kneelers and copings as front. Flanking lean-to outbuildings possibly additional and hidden from the front by the flanking walls.
