Description
Hill Farmhouse, now a house, dates from the mid 18th century. It is constructed of brick with some flared headers and limestone rubble, topped by an old plain-tile roof with brick gable stacks. The building is designed in an L-plan and has two storeys. The symmetrical front features three windows, arranged in Flemish bond with flared headers. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door with a rectangular overlight above, flanked by a two-light casement window above the door and three-light casements in the outer bays, all set under segmental arches. The rear wing, located to the right, is lower and made of banded rubble and brick, featuring additional three-light casements and a plank door. Although the interior was not inspected, there is a contemporary brick garden wall that extends from the right side of the house and encloses two sides of the front garden. This wall has a brick coping and two swept ramps.
