Description

No. 53 Eastgate is an early 19th-century building that stands two storeys high, constructed from coursed rubble with a pantile roof and three brick stacks. It features stone quoins and has three windows, with one located above an elliptical-arched rusticated carriage entry to the left and two additional windows to the right. The ground floor windows have lintels, similar to the modern door, and the building has a plinth made of larger stones. It is part of a group that includes Nos. 42 to 47, 49 to 57, and 59 to 70, with Nos. 50 to 52, 56, 57, 68, and 69 being of local interest.
