Description
Wesley House, located at No. 11 Castlegate, dates back to 1605 and has been altered in the early 18th century. This building is two storeys high with an attic and features a chequer brick design in the Dutch style, along with a stone plinth. It has a first-floor string course and a string course above the second-floor window arches. The parapet is adorned with a wooden triglyph frieze and a moulded cornice gutter. The roof is covered with pantiles and has modern dormers, with flanking chimneys. The front of the building has four bays, with windows framed by architraves. The second bay from the left contains a six-panelled door topped with a rectangular fanlight. The glazing is pointed, and the door features an eared architrave, a plain frieze, and a moulded cornice with dentils that are broken forward at the corners.
