Description

This is a two-storey house located in Burr Bank, built initially in 1605 but largely rebuilt in the later 18th century and again in the 19th century. The house is constructed of red brick with toothed brick eaves, and has a gable end pantile roof. The front of the building is irregular, with three bays. The central door is early 19th century, consisting of six moulded panels within a doorcase featuring reeded pilasters, an entablature, and a pediment. The windows are flush-framed sashes, without glazing bars, with a paired sash window on the ground floor to the right. The house occupies an important position, closing a view at the end of East Sandgate.
