Description

This is a row of four early 19th century, two-story cottages located at 1-5 Bedford Street. They are built of red brick and have low-pitched slate roofs with shallow, flat, moulded eaves. Each cottage has one window, featuring recessed sash windows with intact glazing bars and flat stucco arches above. The doors are made of four moulded panels and are topped with rectangular fanlights, some of which retain three panes of glass. Each door is set within an architrave case with a moulded cornice above a frieze. The cottages have group value, particularly in relation to numbers 31 and 33 Castle Road.
