Description

This is a mid-to-late 18th-century building, altered in the early 19th century. It is three storeys high and constructed of painted brick, with a moulded wooden eaves cornice and a gable-end pantile roof. The front elevation features one window to the right of the entrance, and a three-storey and basement bow with an eaves cornice that juts forward. The bow windows have tripartite sash windows with intact glazing bars. The ground-floor entrance door consists of six fielded panels, a semi-circular fanlight with a radial wreathed pattern, set within a plain surround with narrow recessed flanking panels, and fluted carved scroll brackets to the cornice, surmounted by an open pediment. Inside, the staircase features a closed string, turned balusters, a turned newel post, and a moulded handrail. The building forms a group with numbers 17 to 19 and 19A on Queen Street.
