Description

No. 40 Queen Street is a late 18th-century building that has been altered. It is four storeys high and constructed of rendered brick. The building features bands between the storeys that continue from the adjacent No. 39. On the second floor, there is one sash window, and the first and second floors have a superimposed 19th-century canted wooden bay window. The building is topped with moulded cornices. The ground floor has a modern shop front that has been built out. This building is listed for its group value with the other listed buildings on the east side.
