Description
The Richard the Third Hotel is a hotel built in the late 18th century. It features coursed rubble with ashlar dressings and a stone slate roof. The building has three storeys and four bays, with rusticated quoins. The first bay includes an opening to the rear yard, framed by quoined jambs, impost blocks, and a keystone above a round arch. The third bay has a moulded eared door surround resting on plinths, topped with a frieze and cornice, and contains a 19th-century six-panel door. The sash windows have plain ashlar surrounds, with the second-floor windows being half-size. The building is also characterized by shaped kneelers, ashlar copings, and ridge stacks located at the ends and between the first and second bays.
