Description

The William Richardson memorial is a chest tomb located approximately 1 metre east of All Saints Church in Hunmanby. It dates from the late 18th century and is made of sandstone. Each recessed side panel features a raised plaque with an inscription that is largely illegible, adorned with festoons of drapery and ribbons. Above each plaque is a relief-carved heart pierced by crossed arrows, flanked by oil lamps. The end panels display an urn in relief, and there are paired carved scrolls at each corner. The tomb is topped with a moulded capping.
