Description

The White Swan Inn is a late 18th-century inn, altered and extended in the 19th century. It is constructed of whitewashed brick in Garden Wall bond, with a slate roof and brick stacks. The building has a two-storey, five-window front. A half-glazed and panelled door with a divided overlight is located in a bracketed, gabled porch in the left of centre position. A similar doorway is situated at the right end, featuring a cornice where a porch would normally be. Three four-pane sashes with a top row of fixed lights are positioned between the doors and to the left of the main entrance. Further four-pane sashes are present on the first floor, paired at the left end. A stepped brick eaves course is visible. Stacks are located at the left end, centre, and right of centre. The inn is included on the list for its group value.
