Description

Eastfield House Farmhouse is a C19 farmhouse built incorporating part of an earlier C18 house. The C19 section is constructed of squared limestone, while the C18 section is of squared sandstone with quoins. The roof is pantiled, and there are brick and stone stacks. The building follows a central-staircase plan and is 1½ rooms deep, with the earlier part situated to one side. The main front is two storeys high with a two-window arrangement, alongside a lower, set-back two-storey, one-window wing to the left. A central door features six raised panels. There are 16-pane sashes to the windows, with painted stone sills, and painted stone lintels above all openings. The gables are coped, and end stacks are present. The earlier section to the right has a board door and a tall, three-light, small-pane horizontal-sliding sash window, both under a continuous painted lintel. A similar, shorter window is located on the first floor. A rebuilt end stack is situated on the left.
