Description
Loand House Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse located on the west side of Cropton Lane in Cropton. The building features a dressed limestone front with coursed limestone rubble on the sides and rear, and it has herringbone-tooled quoins. The roof is slate. The farmhouse has a central-entry plan that is one room deep, with a service wing on the side.
It is two stories high with a three-window front, and there is a lower two-story, one-window wing to the left. The entrance consists of a six-panel door with a divided overlight above it. The windows are 16-pane sashes with painted stone sills, and all openings have painted herringbone-tooled lintels. The wing includes a plank door to the right of a two-light casement, with a similar window above. A carved crest is attached to the wall above the door. The gables are coped, and there are end stacks on the main roof, along with an end left stack on the wing.
