NZ 10 NW NEWSHAM MOOR LANE (north side)

5/98 Outbuilding approximately 8 metres south of Hill Top

GV II

House, now outbuilding, and coach house. Late C17 with late C18 or early C19 alterations and addition. Rubble with dressed stone, stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 2:1 first-floor openings. Former house, to left: quoins to right; central chamfered quoined dressed stone doorway with triangular head and old board door; to left, partly blocked window opening to left, and board pitching door above; to right, stable door with shuttered opening above; all with deep lintels. To right, board leaved door in segmental- arched opening, with shuttered opening above. Rear: external stone steps up to loft over coach house. Interior: stone winder staircase to left; chamfered triangular-headed fireplace to right. North Yorkshire and Cleveland Vernacular Buildings Study Group Report Number 941.
