Description

Hill Top is a house built in the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed dressed sandstone with a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and two bays, with a 20th-century wing added to the rear left. It features quoins and a central six-panel door set in an ashlar surround with bases, along with a glazed outer door. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are framed in raised ashlar surrounds, and there is ashlar coping along the top. The house has end stacks, with the left stack rebuilt in brick. Inside, the front room to the left of the door has beaded joists, and there is a steep dogleg staircase with stick balusters and bracketed strings.
