Description

The gate piers to Newsham Hall, dating from the very early 18th century, are constructed from sandstone ashlar. They have a square plan and feature fluted pilasters on the south side. The entablature includes a pulvinated frieze, a cornice, a blocking course, and swept bases that support urn finials. Between the gate piers, there are notable 20th-century wrought-iron gates.
