Description

Broughton House is a house that likely dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed of rubble with ashlar dressings and features a Westmorland slate roof. The building has two storeys and is arranged in a 1:2:1 bay pattern, with the end bays slightly recessed. Ashlar quoins are present at the ends and around the central bays. The central entrance consists of a panelled door set within an ashlar architrave, which is adorned with a chinoiserie wrought-iron porch. The house has 4-pane sash windows framed by architraves. Notable architectural details include cavetto bracket kneelers and ashlar coping, along with a corniced ashlar stack located at the left end.
