Description
Nos 10 and 10A on Regent Parade are a mid-19th century pair of shops that stand three storeys tall, each featuring three windows. The buildings have a slated roof with coped gables and kneelers, constructed from grit stone ashlar. They include a bracketed gutter and plain sill bands. The windows are recessed sash types with glazing bars, while the first-floor end bays of each house have splayed bay windows topped with cornices. The ground floor shopfronts are made of wood, with pilasters supporting an entablature; Nos 11 and 11A feature a console bracketed cornice, and the shop windows have arched lights, although the windows of Nos 10 and 10A have been altered. The entrances to the houses are recessed and include fanlights and fielded and panelled doors, with steps leading up to both house and shop entrances. These buildings are included for their group value with other nearby properties.
