Description
This barn, located approximately 10 metres to the west of Lupton Fold Farmhouse, dates back to 1683. It is constructed from coursed squared stone with ashlar detailing and features a graduated stone slate roof. The barn is a single storey with a basement on the west side and consists of two bays. It has quoins and on the east side, there is a chamfered 2-light mullioned window. The left return of the barn has a double barn board door with a plain stone surround, flanked by shaped corbels that support a slightly cambered arched lintel. There is also a basement doorcase with a shouldered cambered arched lintel, which bears the inscription "S I L 1683." Above this, in the gable, is a 2-light recessed and chamfered mullion window. This barn is included in the listing for its group value.
