Description

Springtop Wood Farm hay barn is a hay barn dated 1815. It is constructed of coursed squared stone with an ashlar finish and features a graduated stone slate roof. The barn has three bays and three full-height openings in the center, supported by two square piers. On the left side, there is a board door at first-floor level, above which is a stone tablet inscribed with "EB 1815." The gable has pigeon holes with stone ledges. This barn is a good example of an uncommon type found in Nidderdale.
