Description
This building is a barn that was originally part of Sigsworth Lodge, dating from the 17th century. It is constructed from coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings and features a graduated stone slate roof. The barn has two storeys and consists of four main bays, with a single bay outbuilding to the left.
The central entrance is a board door set within a chamfered stone surround that has an arched lintel. This door is flanked by four-light double-chamfered mullioned windows. Above these, there are similar windows with three lights, and above the door, there are two single-light segmental-headed chamfered windows. The left-hand bay has stone steps leading up to a board door on the first floor, and to the left of these steps, there is a square chamfered window on the ground floor. The building features end stacks and one stack on the ridge.
