Description
The Tythe Barn, originally listed as the barn at Lunt Farm, is a barn that has been converted into two houses. It features a dated lintel inscribed with "llM/1693". The structure is built of brick with stone dressings and has a slate roof. It stands two storeys high and consists of six bays. The barn has a stone base and quoins, along with narrow buttresses. The end bay includes two-light chamfered-mullioned windows on both floors. The first and fifth bays have first-floor windows with stone surrounds, while the other windows are 20th-century, segmental-headed with casements. The third bay contains a segmental-headed cart entrance with a stone surround and 20th-century glazed infill. The end bay features an entrance with a stone surround and the dated lintel. There is a central cross-axial stack. The left return has a 20th-century extension at the rear angle, and the right return has external steps leading to a first-floor entrance with a decorated lintel. The rear of the barn has a cart entrance with 20th-century glazed infill and a roundel above. Inside, the barn retains its original roof trusses.
