Description
The Chestnuts is a house dating from the late 18th century, with an extension that has a datestone inscribed "TWT/1853". The building is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features a slate roof. It is two storeys high with three bays, and the 19th-century extension adds two bays to the right. The top cornice is a notable feature. The windows have wedge lintels and are sashed with glazing bars. The round-headed entrance is adorned with Tuscan columns, a fluted frieze, and an open pediment, and it includes a complete fanlight and a six-panel door. The extension has stone coping, and its windows feature wedge lintels and casements. There is a segmental-headed entrance to the left, and gable end stacks are present. The left return of the building has a round-headed attic window.
