Description

The war memorial located opposite St. Helen's Church was built around 1920 and incorporates a stone that may be from a medieval cross base. It is constructed of stone and features four octagonal steps leading up to a square cross base. The memorial has a chamfered shaft cross topped with a canopied crucifix. Inscriptions are present on the step risers. Notably, the cross base is made from a different type of stone than the rest of the memorial and shows more weathering, with its origin unknown, although many crosses are known to have existed in the area.
