SE 86 NW SETTRINGTON GRIMSTON LANE (west side, off) 7/65 Settrington Grange Farmhouse

II Farmhouse. c1795. Dressed limestone on tooled limestone plinth with tooled limestone quoins and dressings; stone flag roof. Central stair-hall plan, 2 rooms deep, with service wing to right. 2-storey, 3-window front to house, with lower 2-storey, single-window wing, slightly recessed, to right. Central door of 6 raised and fielded panels beneath divided overlight to house; similar door to extension. 12-pane sashes to ground floor of house, with unequal 9-pane sashes to first floor: first-floor window of extension is 2-light, 12-pane horizontal sliding sash. Painted tooled sills to all windows, and flat arches of tooled voussoirs to all openings. House has a hipped roof with overhanging eaves and end stacks. Roof to the wing is hipped to right. Interior: open-string staircase with turned balusters and moulded and wreathed handrail to rear of entrance hall. Boxed stair survives in the service wing. All the ground-floor windows retain their shutters of raised and fielded panelling.
