Description
No. 21 King Street is a mid-19th century refronting of an 18th-century building. It has two storeys and is faced with stucco, featuring a rusticated ground floor, which was formerly a public house. The building has a projecting flat naves cornice and a gable-end slate roof. There is a large three-light central pedimented dormer, with two smaller dormers on either side. The first floor has two paired sash windows set within architrave surrounds. The ground floor retains its former pub front, with Doric pilasters flanking the doorways and rectangular fanlights above. There are two windows with panelled risers, and a frieze and string course across the front. The side elevation is painted and made of red brick, while the gable-ended rear part features two sash windows with intact glazing bars. This building is included for its group value with The Brewery Stores and Nos. 21 to 24 King Street.
