Description
This is a table tomb dated 1721, located approximately 3 metres south of the Church of All Saints in Wighill. It is dedicated to Mathew Tomlinson and is made of gritstone. The tomb features a solid slab with chamfered edges, supported by solid side and end slabs. The inscription is deeply cut and reads: "Here Lieth y Body of / Mathew Tomlinson late / of Easedike who Dyed y / 2 day of September Anno / Dmi 1721 Aged 61". Easedike is a deserted village, with one remaining farm, situated 2 miles south of Wighill.
