Description
This is a table tomb located approximately 3 metres east of the south porch of the Church of St Thomas a Becket. It dates from 1702 and 1719 and is made of gritstone. The tomb features a large solid slab with cyma-moulded edges, supported by six solid pillars. Each pillar is square in section, with cyma-moulded foot and cap, and a projecting central band. The inscription on the tomb is very weathered and reads: "In Hopes of A glorious / Resurrection / 1702 ... / ... 1719", with the remainder being illegible at the time of resurvey.
