Description

This is a group of three table tombs located approximately 5 meters east of the Church of All Saints, dating from the late 17th century. The tombs consist of three gritstone slabs that are supported on a moulded plinth. The left slab features an inscription that reads: "HOAPINGE FOR THE/RISERECTION HEARE/LIETH THE BODIE OF/WILLIAM CROOKE OF/ASKWITH WHO DEPARTED THIS LIFE AUGUST/THE 15th ANNO DOMINI/1698 IN THE 71 YEARE/OF HIS AIDGE." The inscriptions on the central and right slabs were not legible at the time of the resurvey. These tombs are included for their group value.
