Description

Cawton Manor Farm is a house dating from the late 17th century, with later alterations from the 18th century and restoration in the late 20th century. It is constructed of limestone with pebbledash rendering, featuring flush ashlar quoins and an ashlar plinth. The roof is made of pantiles and has coped gables with kneelers, along with a single brick ridge chimney stack. The building is L-shaped and has two storeys with a cellar.

The south front has two 16-pane sash windows on each floor. The west gable features a 4-panel door set in a flush ashlar quoin surround, topped with an ashlar lintel and keystone, with small casement windows on either side. Above this door is a carved stone coat-of-arms, and above that is a 16-pane sash window in a similar ashlar surround and lintel. The cellar has a 3-light square-headed chamfered mullion window.

On the north gable, there is a single 16-pane sash window on each floor. The east front has a single 16-pane sash window to the right and a door to the left, with two sliding Yorkshire sashes on the first floor. The former position of the roofline, which has been raised, is indicated by shaped kneelers with rosettes.

Inside, the building contains three massive cross beams supported by moulded corbels in the main house.
