Description

Sparling House and Hathaway Cottage is a house and cottage built in the late 18th century, with some later alterations. The structure is made of red-brown local brick and features a pantile roof with end and ridge stacks. The house has two storeys and consists of two bays, which contain Yorkshire sashes with glazing bars. There are two stone steps leading up to a central six-panel door that is topped by an oblong fanlight with glazing bars. The cottage has one bay and includes modern casements and a glazed door. Flat brick arches are present above the openings throughout the building. The property is included in the listing mainly for its group value.
