Description

Crayke Cottage is a house built in the mid-19th century. It is constructed from pinkish-brown local brick in Flemish bond and features an overhanging hipped roof made of Welsh slate with end stacks. The building stands two storeys high and has a three-bay projecting centre flanked by single bay wings. The central entrance consists of part-glazed double doors with panelled reveals and soffit, set within a Doric doorcase that has attached columns supporting an entablature adorned with metopes, triglyphs, and a dentilled cornice. The ground floor has 16-pane sash windows, while the upper floor features 12-pane sashes, all set beneath channelled cambered stone lintels.
