Description
This mid-to-late 18th-century cottage is located on Church Hill in Crayke. It is built of red-brown local brick, with a pantile roof and end chimneys. The two-storey, three-bay building has modern casement windows set beneath segmental brick arches. A central entrance has stone steps leading to a 19th-century six-pane door, topped by an oblong fanlight divided into small panes, all within a wooden pilaster and entablature surround. A stepped band runs on the first floor, and 16-pane sashes are found above, set in flush wood architraves. Stepped eaves complete the exterior.
