Description
Nos 24 to 29 on Bedford Street are a row of early to mid 19th century, two-storey houses made of red brick. They feature a low-pitched hipped slate roof with shallow moulded flat eaves supported by paired brackets. Nos 24 and 29 each have one window on the first floor, while Nos 25, 27, and 28 have two windows on the first floor and one on the ground floor. No 26 stands out with three first-floor windows and a round-arched passage entrance on the ground floor. The windows are recessed sashes, with most retaining their glazing bars, and are topped with flat stucco arches. Nos 24 and 26 still have their original four-panel doors, while the others have been altered. All houses feature two-pane fanlights, panelled reveals, and flanking pilasters with console brackets above cornice hoods. The row has group value as a cohesive architectural feature.
