Description
The Waller Memorial is a tombstone located approximately six metres south of the southeast corner of the nave of the Church of St Agatha. It dates from around 1764 and is made of ashlar sandstone. The memorial features a slab with a scrolled top. On the east side, there is an egg-and-dart motif along the upper edge, three paterae in the centre, and crossed acanthus fronds. The inscription commemorates William Waller, who died in 1764, and is framed by a moulded border. The west side contains six lines of verse that reflect on fate.
