Description
This building, located at 44 High Street, is a house with a rear outbuilding that has been converted into two dwellings. It dates from the mid to late 18th century and is constructed of coursed sandstone. The roof is made of 20th-century clay pantiles, with stone slates at the eaves. The building has two storeys and features two first-floor windows. The entrance to No 1 Millgate is through a single-storey rear outbuilding.
On the left side of the entrance, there is a part-glazed door leading to No 44, accompanied by a tripartite sash window with glazing bars. Above this, there is another sash window with glazing bars. To the right, on each floor of No 1 Millgate, there is a 20th-century casement window. The building also features a shaped kneeler and ashlar coping on the right side, along with brick end stacks.
