Description

The Post Office in Middleham, located on the north side of Market Place, is a house and shop dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of rubble with ashlar dressings and features a Welsh slate roof. The building has three storeys and two bays, with quoins at the corners.

On the ground floor, there are two plain windows set in quoined ashlar surrounds with keystones, along with two 20th-century square bay shop windows that are linked by a fascia above the central shop door. The upper floors contain sash windows in plain ashlar surrounds, with the windows on the second floor being smaller than those on the first. The building is topped with shaped kneelers, ashlar copings, and has end stacks.
